Picture this: You’re aiming to become an extreme snowboarder. You’re a novice to the sport but you’re keen to hit the slopes as much as you can. Then, the unthinkable happens, and you have an horrific accident. You’re thrown into emergency surgery, but there’s nothing they can do – you’re forever paralysed from the waist down. The end of your dreams? Crushing defeat at the hands of fate? Not for Tony Thogmartin. Paraplegic as he may be, he’s still continuing his dreams in his own way, training every week in the most inspiring display you’ll ever see… and it helps that it’s also sick as hell, check out these tricks!

Turning to the Paralympics is a common story for athletes who have become disabled in some way or another, and we can often see wheelchair racing as an example of this. But we’ve never quite seen anything like this! A wheelchair zooming around the half pipes of the concrete jungle, putting some skaters to shame! Now that’s awesome… and a little heartwarming too!

But that’s not where the story ends! Aaron Fotheringham started this sport, known as WCMX. Combining tricks from skateboarding and BMX, it’s not only a brilliant display, but a wonderful opportunity for disabled athletes to tear it up with the best of them! In fact, not very long ago at all, some of Southern California’s biggest WCMX’s stars livestreamed to chat about the sport… including the modern legend, Tony Thogmartin!

When we think about this incredible story, it puts us in mind of the good old days of rock and roll, and today’s musical recommendation from our partners at Blue Pie will reflect that. This time, Ooh La La, Australia’s throwback band to the roots of rock and roll! They take the history of their musical style seriously.

And they’re not alone. With thousands of plays on their hit song “Yeah People” on successful compilation album Particles Of Rock Vol. 2, it’s clear to see that the world is rocking with them!

We’ll be sure to be keeping an eye on Tony Thogmartin and banging the best rock that we can! Here’s hoping he’ll continue to impress with his endeaours in the future – we’ll be glued to the screen and seeing what he does next while blaring our tunes!
